Twitter: Olabilecek en kısa ve anlamlı işbirliği platformu. Bir öğretmen olarak twitter benim için dünyanın her yerinden eğitimcilerle çok hızlı ve anında paylaşımda bulunabildiğim küresel bir öğretmenler odası. Aynı etkileşimi öğretmenlerle öğrencileri ya da farklı okulların aynı sınıf öğrencileri arasında etkili bir paylaşım aracı olarak kullanmak hiç de zor değil.
Facebook: Bir öğretmenin liderliğinde; ortak bir sınıf sayfası yaratıp, yapılan tüm çalışmaların paylaşabileceği, yorumların eklenebileceği bir alan. Öğrencilerinize sorun bakalım günde kaç saatlerini Facebook’ta geçiriyorlar. Niye bu kadar etkin kullandıkları bir alanı dersler için kullanmıyoruz ki?
Blog: Sınıf blogları üstünden çalışmak dijital yerliler için hem çok keyifli hem de motive edici bir uygulama. Üstelik internet bağlantısı olan her yerden öğrencilerinizin çalışmalarını takip edip, yorumlarda bulanabileceğiniz bir alan.
Glogster: Her konuda online poster hazırlanabilecek bir uygulama. Glog üstünden hazırladıgınız proje posterlerini twitter ya da facebook ta paylaşabilir, blogunuza da ekleyebilirsiniz.
Wiki: Sınıflar arası ya da okullar arası ortak projeler üstünde çalışmak için kullanabilecek bir tür web uygulaması.

Dijital hikaye sunumları, filmler ve karikatürler yaratabileceğiniz linkler ve daha bir dolu uygulama. Tüm bu uygulamaları ve bilgi kaynaklarını en hızlı şekilde paylaşabileceğimiz sosyal medyanın gücüyse tartışılmayacak kadar hızlı ve etkili. Biz ve öğrencilerimiz bu yeni dijital dünyanın neresindeyiz ve ne kadarını eğitim programlarımızın içine alabildik diye bir kez daha gözden geçirmeliyiz.

Students like authentic video activities because they provide a break from the usual textbook-based activities. Learning with authentic materials is more enjoyable for them. Using movies, cartoons or authentic videos are an effective way for teaching a language because
*they bring the real world to class and provide authentic language
*they provide a pronunciation and intonation model
*they promote contextualized learning
*you can catch kids’ attention easily if the kids have fun
*they trigger for active involvement
*they offer for multi-sensory experience
*they have opportunity to integrate all skills
*they are non-threatening environment
SOME ACTIVITIES THAT I USE WITH MY KIDS
MOVIE / CARTOONS PROJECTS
Jellycam is a site that kids can make stop-motion films with a webcam or a bunch of photos. Kids can choose famous characters and create their own animations using Anmish. Chogger is a tool that they can use comic builder to draw their own comics, caption photos, take webcam pictures and add speech balloons.They can create their own comic strips and also create their own story book based on a cartoon or movie that they’ve watched. Toondoo is a tool to create cartoons easily.They can use Goanimate to make their animations and slideshows.Dvolver is a tool to make digital movie online.
MOVIE / CARTOONS REVIEWS
They can create their own Movie Blog using Blogger to write their opinions about the films that they have seen.They can write about their opinion of it, the actors or director. They can also compare it to other films or cartoons that they have seen before.
YUDU is a useful site for creating online books and magazines that they can publish digital movie magazines.
MOVIE / CARTOONS POSTERS
They can create their own poster using Glogster that is my favourite one.You can give some questions that they can guide them:
Which characters did you like best?Why?
Which characters did you like least? Why?
What did you like best about it? Why?
What did you learn from the movie?
Did you like the music was used in the movie? Why or why not?
Did you like the ending of the movie? Why or why not?
How would you have ended the film?

MOVIE SONG PROJECT
They can create their movie song project using Doodle Video.You should also read a great post ‘Making a Doodle Video with your Class’ about making a doodle video by @ddeubel.
SILENT VIEWING
Kids watch a short scene with the sound off and they ask questions about the scene in pair: Where are they? What are they doing? Who are they? etc.
DUBBING ACTIVITY
Kids watch a short scene with the sound off and imagine what the characters are talking about and create their own dialogue in pairs and then they can act out the scene.
FORWARD VIEWING
If it’s a short movie clip or segment, play the video fast forward and kids try to guess what happens. After watching the whole video, they can compare it with their predictions.
SOUND ON – VISION OFF ACTIVITY
Give handouts including pictures of different scenes.Kids listen the vision off scenes and choose the right picture according to what they hear.
MEMORY GAME(Who remembered the most?)
Kids watch the scene and then they talk and write about what they have seen as pair work.Pairs can get together with another pair and compare lists.
CHARACTER INTERVIEWS
After watching a video, kids work in a group and ask questions to the character about his/her behaviour and feelings.
ACT IT OUT
They can act out the script of a scene.
WHO SAYS
Give some quotations to the kids in a pair. Then they try to remember who says.
WHITE LIES
A paragraph from a short scene are given to the kids but some of the facts are changed. They can find the statements that are not true.
IMAGINARY END
They can change the end of the film or they can write their own ending before watching the end of the film.

You can open the video with any video player such as Real Palyer, Media Player or GomPlayer.Real Player is a programme that you can download your favourite online videos from thousands of websites and transfer them to your mobile phone, iPod or other favourite device, quickly and easily.
Streaming videos are great resources that you can find loads of visual aids. YouTube is the most popular one to find loads of videos that offer authentic examples of everyday English used by everyday people. VideoJug is also the world’s most comprehensive library of free factual video content online.Some of the schools or districts block YouTube that consists thousands of authentic videos, songs and stories. I believe that schools are missing the opportunity to extend resources when they block that kind of sites.If the access is blocked or you don’t want to watch the video with adds or comments, there are some links to convert all videos from any websites. Don’t worry, they’ll be ready to use in your classroom in a few minutes.
Savevid is a site that you can download, save and convert all online videos.
Cleaner YouTube allows you to display YouTube videos without any of the “related videos,” comments, or display advertising for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
Zamzar is another site to convert files without the need to download software.
Safe Share TV is a nice tool that not only removes distracting and offensive elements around YouTube videos, but it also allows you to crop videos before sharing them.

Snipsnip.It is a tool that you insert a youtube link to shorten and share your favourite part.

I’ve just finished reading the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson and this post is just a small tribute to the one who gave us power to create.I’m a huge Apple fan and I’m also an admirer of Steve’s vision. People like Steve Jobs, inspire other people, not only to create things but also to change lives.

You’re the conductor of your class as a teacher.You should motivate the kids for the topic and you should also consider eight different intelligences according to the theory of Multiple Intelligences and make sure that all intelligences are covered.Most of the schools focus on linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligences.These traditional methods that based on IQ testing are limited.Let’s think about all intelligent people do well at school.If not, Why? Instead of focusing on the traditional methods, teachers should focus on Howard Gardner’s eight different intelligences and present their lessons in a wide variety of ways using music, role play, art activities, cooperative learning, field trips, web 2.0 tools and much more.
The theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI) was developed in 1983 by Howard Gardner.These intelligences are:
